Valheim

Nine named Valheim biomes

Valheim biomes

Valheim biomes run from Meadows through Deep North, plus Ocean. Official news and the 1.0 FAQ name those lands and the Forsaken that gate the ground biomes. 1.0 fills Deep North and leaves Ocean without a dedicated pass. Use the filter above the board to show only lands that have a Forsaken, or the sea row that does not.

Meadows to Deep North, then Ocean

The board is nine rows, not a guessed tenth. Meadows is the starting biome with Eikthyr. Black Forest is second with The Elder. Swamp is third with Bonemass. Mountain is fourth with Moder. Plains is fifth with Yagluth. Mistlands is sixth with The Seeker Queen. Ashlands is seventh with Fader. Deep North is eighth, the 1.0 finale, with Kall Fimbulbringer. Ocean is ninth: a sea biome the FAQ names while saying 1.0 does not focus on it.

Those pairings come from Steam achievements, 1.0 notes, and official FAQ language, not from a copied community infobox. Where a public Steam description is hidden, the biome cell still holds. Where a summon item is unpublished, the cell stays a name. Filter “Has a Forsaken” hides Ocean. Filter “No Forsaken” isolates the sea row so you can see the 1.0 exception in one click.

Historical drops mapped onto this board rather than replacing it. Mistlands shipped as a November 2022 content drop on the press page. Ashlands shipped as an April 2024 drop. Deep North is the 9 September 2026 1.0 biome. Hearth & Home, The Bog Witch, and Call To Arms changed food, building, and combat without renaming these nine lands.

What 1.0 actually adds in Deep North

Patch notes for 1.0 add snow clearing before building, slippery ice, Jotun invasion events, a grappling hook, alternate earlier biomes at the outer edge, mysterious idols at a hidden forge, Haldor inventory upgrades, and achievements. None of that rewrites Meadows as optional. The FAQ still tells you to treat Deep North as a later chapter and to generate it on unexplored map or a fresh world.

Creatures named for the north include Barka, Elaking, Eyeless One, Fallen Warrior, Gammeltroll, Hexen, Krigen, pulp variants, tameable Moose, Seal, Writhan, and boss Kall Fimbulbringer. Food notes add Frost Foundry, Frigid Kiln, Smoker, Standing Loom, kale, oats, Poteitr, lingonberries, moose and seal dishes, and the Northern Morning Fare feast. Those lists live on the creature and food routes so this board can stay a nine-row scan.

Ocean is the honest hole. Iron Gate could have shipped a sea pass with 1.0 and chose not to. The biome still exists as water between lands, with sailing, ice, and the Sailor and Captain grinds on the longship page. Do not wait for an Ocean Forsaken that 1.0 does not name. Use the filter, pick the next land that has a boss, and open Valheim bosses for the eight-name compare.

How to read the board on desk and phone

The nine lands sit as a numbered board: name, role, Forsaken, and the official-news status flag. Filter buttons stay above those plates. Phone layout stacks the same cards so columns are never crushed into thin strips. Labels stay in this page's language. Locked names such as Meadows, Deep North, and Forsaken keep their official spelling.

Status text records that each land is named in official news or the FAQ. It is not a difficulty rating and not a loot table. Mountain carries the Stone Golem snow still. Mistlands carries the Seeker mist still. The other seven lands use labelled umber plates rather than repeating those two shots.

The board itself should answer only: what is the name, what is the role, who is the Forsaken, and does 1.0 treat this row as the finale or as the ignored sea.
