Where 1.0 is sold and how big the download is
Steam remains the PC spine: Windows 10 64-bit minimum, 2.6 GHz quad core, 8 GB RAM, GTX 950 or HD 7970, DirectX 11; recommended i5 or Ryzen 5 at 3 GHz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RX 580. macOS 11+ and Linux are listed. Mac App Store has a separate listing (Apple id 1554294918). Humble sells Windows, Linux, and Mac. Xbox covers One, Series, and Microsoft Store PC. PlayStation 5 is digital on the concept page. Nintendo Switch 2 is on the eShop.
The FAQ lists typical download size at about 4.3 GiB, Xbox One about 3.0 GiB, Mac App Store and Microsoft Store about 6.5 GiB. Crossplay works across the listed platforms. Save sync is only Xbox to Microsoft Store PC. Player count stays 1–10. Full controller support including DualShock and DualSense is a Steam feature flag. The soundtrack is DLC app 1620250, a music app, not a gameplay expansion.
Wikipedia records Xbox One and Series on 14 March 2023, before 1.0. That is an observed console date, not a 1.0 claim. 1.0 is the day PS5 and Switch 2 join the matrix with Deep North. Official site storefront links and the FAQ are the buy list to trust. Regional price will not always read as $29.99; Steam sessions can show other currencies. Early Access owners are not charged again.
From Early Access to Deep North
Early Access opened 2 February 2021. The press kit names Hearth & Home as a September 2021 drop, Mistlands as November 2022, and Ashlands as April 2024. Steam news names The Bog Witch as patch 0.219.13 on 29 October 2024 and Call To Arms as patch 0.221.4 on 9 September 2025. A 2 February 2026 birthday patch marked five years with optimizations and Steam Deck work. 1.0 is 9 September 2026.
The 7 June 2026 community post set that 1.0 date and tied it to Deep North. The 9 September 2026 post then shipped the biome, forty-plus weapons, ten-plus creatures, eighty-plus build pieces, upgradeable pockets, achievements, and Kall Fimbulbringer. It pointed at the FAQ for mods and world saves. Iron Gate's dated reveal trailer on this page is eWULkdcaR5o; the Out Now trailer stays on the hub so each route keeps one video.
Mods remain unsupported. Ocean remains unfocused. Cheats still flag trophies. Those three FAQ answers are why this timeline ends in a live 1.0 rather than in a Workshop promise. For the biome that 1.0 actually added, read Valheim biomes. For the boss at the end of it, Valheim bosses. For saves, Valheim FAQ.
