Valheim

Stations and 1.0 forges

Valheim crafting

Valheim crafting in 1.0 still starts at the Workbench and then adds northern production: Frost Foundry, Frigid Kiln, a Smoker on the cauldron, a Standing Loom on the galdr table, Smith's Aprons on the black forge, Haldor pocket upgrades, and a hidden Forge of Potential. Recipe tables are not in the patch notes. This page names the stations Iron Gate listed and leaves costs blank.

Workbench first, north later

Workbench is the core station. Every landing uses it to turn Meadows scrap into a hammer, an axe, and the first house pieces. 1.0 did not replace it. What 1.0 added is a northern production pair, Frost Foundry and Frigid Kiln, plus extensions that hang off older tables: Smoker for the cauldron, Standing Loom for the galdr table, Smith's Aprons for the black forge. Those extensions only matter once you already own the parent station.

Haldor is listed as merchant upgrades, specifically inventory pockets. That is a vendor change, not a new biome. The hidden Forge of Potential is named in the same 1.0 notes as mysterious idols. No map pin is marked for it. If you find idols in Deep North, treat them as the note describes: a hidden forge, not a Meadows bench.

Grappling hook is a 1.0 traversal tool in the same patch list. It is not a station, but it changes how you reach cliff forges and ice shelves. Snow clearing before building is a placement rule that sits next to these benches in Deep North. Craft the hammer, clear the pad, then drop the Foundry. Skipping the shovel step is how northern halls float and snap.

What official notes do not publish

There is no first-party recipe table for Frost Foundry output, kiln fuel, smoker cook times, or loom materials. Community wikis fill those grids. This URL refuses to copy them. The useful official list is the eight names in the table plus the rule that 1.0 achievements include The Blacksmith (craft every kind of weapon), The Artisan (craft every kind of item), and The Carpenter (build everything). Those trophies prove a completionist crafting loop exists without printing each recipe.

The Master Chef and The Gourmet sit on the food route. The Hunter and Master Hunter sit on creatures. Do not treat this page as a combined skill tree. If a station upgrade costs a Forsaken trophy, wait for Iron Gate to say so; the 1.0 notes do not. The Seeker Queen, Fader, and Kall Fimbulbringer remain boss names, not crafting currencies, until a later note says otherwise.

Platform does not change the station list. Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Mac App Store all ship the same 1.0 crafting chapter. Mods and Workshop are absent, so there is no official alternate bench pack. For the hall those benches live in, read Valheim building. For the dishes the smoker implies, read Valheim food.

1.0 also lists more than forty weapons and eighty-plus build pieces in the same community post that shipped Deep North. Those counts prove the crafting loop grew without publishing a recipe grid. Smith's Aprons, the Standing Loom, and the Smoker are the named extensions; upgradeable pockets on Haldor are the named merchant change. Mysterious idols point at the Forge of Potential. A grappling hook is the traversal tool that gets you to cliff forges. Snow clearing is the placement rule that keeps northern benches on solid ground. Together those sentences are the official 1.0 crafting chapter. Workbench remains the first hammer you place in Meadows, and it remains useful after Kall Fimbulbringer because repairs never leave the kit. Blacksmith, Artisan, and Carpenter trophies are how Steam asks you to finish the loop without handing over a wiki recipe dump.
