Sail the tenth world, including the ice
Valheim longship
Valheim longship copy puts Vikings on mighty ships between biomes. 1.0 adds slippery ice and snow on frozen seas, so a hull that was safe in Early Access now has to read the ice edge. Steam tracks circling the world at the helm: The Sailor is sailing far enough to circle twice, The Captain is circling while manning the helm. This page is that loop, not a full shipyard catalog.

Open water and the frozen edge
Ocean is a named biome. The 1.0 FAQ says the update does not focus on it. That is not the same as deleting sailing. You still cross water to reach Plains islands, Ashlands shores, and Deep North ice. 1.0 notes add slippery ice and snow on frozen seas. The screenshot of an iced-up longship on this route is the official picture of that rule. Walk the ice, or you fall; park the hull, or the freeze holds it.
Store copy still sells the longship as part of the Viking fantasy alongside halls and Forsaken. Karve and other hull names live on community wikis; Iron Gate's 1.0 notes did not reprint a hull table, so this URL stays on the longship word and the two Steam sailing trophies. Build a ship when Meadows and Black Forest have given you nails and a workbench, not as a Deep North first action.
Co-op of one to ten players means a crew can man oars while one player takes the helm. The Captain specifically requires the helm. The Sailor does not. If you want those trophies, plan a world-circle after you can survive Ocean threats and ice, not during the first Meadows night. Map exploration trophies (The Explorer, The Pathfinder) are adjacent but they allow walking; they are not ship rows.
Circling the world for Sailor and Captain
The Sailor: sail far enough to circle the world twice. The Captain: sail far enough to circle the world while manning the helm. Those sentences are the entire official numeric design for late sailing. There is no published distance in metres. Use the in-game map edge and a hull that can take ice. Repair at halls along the coast. Comfort and food still matter when you step off at a new biome.
Frozen seas in Deep North are a reason to keep a portal or a backup hull. Grappling hook from 1.0 notes helps on ice cliffs next to the water, not on the deck. Jotun invasion events can hit a coastal hall while the ship is out. Park with a view of the door. Alternate earlier biomes at the outer edge can surprise a circumnavigation: you may meet Meadows or Black Forest again far from spawn, which is a 1.0 generation note, not a bug story.
For the lands you are sailing between, use Valheim biomes. For the bosses on those shores, Valheim bosses. For 1.0 platform and crossplay limits on who can share the helm, Valheim 1.0. The stills here are the iced hull and the striped sail under the World-Tree branch, both official Steam shots bound to this route.
A hull is also how you reach Ocean-adjacent Forsaken lands such as Plains islands and Ashlands shores without walking the entire seed. 1.0 did not add an Ocean boss, so the sea remains a connector. Keep food stacked before a long crossing; meals are health and stamina, and a frozen swim is a bad time to learn that. Repair hammers belong next to the tiller. If ice holds the keel, wait for a thaw or break a channel rather than abandoning the only ship on that coast.
