Valheim glossary

Valheim is the English Steam title for app 892970. Iron Gate AB develops it in Skövde. Coffee Stain Publishing publishes it. Steam lists fourteen official text languages, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, plus a note that community translations exist separately. Only Simplified Chinese changes the product string to Valheim: 英灵神殿. Japanese Mac App Store keeps Valheim. A China iTunes lookup returned zero results, so no CN App Store name is listed.

Forsaken is the system noun in store text: regional bosses you hunt to prove yourself to Odin. It is not a faction you join. The eight boss spellings are locked to Steam achievement titles, including The Seeker Queen rather than Queen, and Kall Fimbulbringer rather than a shortened Kall. Using a fan shortening in a URL would split search intent, so slugs keep the Steam spelling.

Updates keep their press and news titles: Hearth & Home, Mistlands, Ashlands, The Bog Witch, Call To Arms, then Valheim 1.0 / Deep North. Hildir, Haldor, Munin, and Odin are locked NPC or lore names. Haldor is the merchant who gains pocket upgrades in 1.0. Hildir is locked so translators do not respell her. Munin is the raven name Iron Gate uses. Odin is the god in the Forsaken sentence.

The nine biome spellings are Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, Mountain, Plains, Mistlands, Ashlands, Deep North, and Ocean. Deep North is both a place and the 1.0 chapter title. Ocean is a place the FAQ names and then excludes from 1.0 focus. Longhouse is the hall fantasy in store copy; this glossary does not treat it as a single build piece id because Iron Gate did not publish that id in the notes we have.

Stations locked here are Workbench, Frost Foundry, Frigid Kiln, and Forge of Potential. Smoker, Standing Loom, and Smith's Aprons are 1.0 extensions described on the crafting page. Poteitr is the 1.0 food noun that appears in baked and meatball dishes. Gammeltroll and Elaking are representative 1.0 creature spellings; the full fauna table is on Valheim creatures.

Trophy names in the locked list are the ones players search as phrases: I Have Arrived!, Comfort is King, The Sailor, The Captain. Hidden descriptions stay hidden. Comfort 20, two circumnavigations, and helm circumnavigation are the public numbers attached to the last three. For the rest of the fifty-three, use Valheim achievements rather than bloating this glossary into a second roster.

Internal links use language-free slugs: /the-forsaken/, /food-and-mead/, /tenth-world/. The renderer adds the locale prefix. Translators receive these locked strings so Meadows does not become a machine-translated meadow in a URL. Simplified Chinese pages may show Valheim: 英灵神殿 in the brand slot and in body copy where the product name belongs, while biome and boss names stay in the locked Latin spellings unless a later official Chinese term list ships.

If a future patch renames The Seeker Queen or adds an Ocean Forsaken, this glossary should change with Steam and the FAQ, not with a forum consensus. Until then, Kall Fimbulbringer is the 1.0 finale boss spelling, Deep North is the finale biome spelling, and Forsaken remains the collective noun. The logo still on this page is the official Steam wordmark, including a Bog Witch subtitle on that particular asset, which is a historical art fact rather than the current chapter title.
